Citizens Defending Freedom demands impeachment, indictment of Biden amid Trump arrest

Updated: Oct 2

TAMPA, Fla. — Citizens Defending Freedom, a non-profit that helps American citizens defend their faith and freedom, says that President Joe Biden should be indicted and impeached for committing the same alleged crime as former President Donald Trump.

Tuesday, Trump was officially arrested and charged for allegedly storing classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate. Today marks the first time in American history that a sitting president has used the authority of the Department of Justice (DOJ) to arrest a direct political opponent.

In January, it was reported that Biden is under investigation for the same alleged crime – storing classified documents from his time as Vice President in his Wilmington, Del. home. That investigation reportedly remains underway, but shows no signs of progression.

Citizens Defending Freedom says that anything less than the indictment, arrest and impeachment of Biden is a clear double standard that not only threatens the rule of law, but risks further eroding the public’s faith in the American justice system.

“Time and time again, we see what appears to be a biased, anti-conservative system of justice,” said James Judge, the national spokesman for Citizens Defending Freedom. “The political left insists that Trump’s arrest is not political, and that the law applies equally to everyone. If that is the case, they should have no problem with an indictment of Biden, who is accused of the exact same crime as Trump. Further, if they’re truly interested in justice, they should work with their Republican counterparts in the House and Senate to immediately impeach and remove Biden from office.”

Judge added that the Republican-controlled House of Representatives has the ability to file articles of impeachment right away, and that it should take that step in the interest of equal justice under the law.

“It’s time for the Republicans to take a stand,” said Judge. “They sat idly by while Trump was abused with the impeachment process twice during his presidency. If a president cannot be impeached for an alleged crime that his political opponent is currently being arrested for, why do we even have an impeachment process?”
