White House Plans 'Extraordinary' Holy Week as Trump Honors Easter

At a time when public faith is often mocked, minimized, or outright opposed, the White

House offered a powerful counterexample this Easter season—publicly and boldly

honoring Jesus Christ during Holy Week.

President Donald Trump’s administration marked the week leading up to Easter with

special events that emphasized the profound importance of the resurrection. Trump’s

robust Holy Week celebration, which includes the distribution of a Holy Week

proclamation, a special presidential video message, the hosting of a pre-Easter dinner,

and a White House staff Easter service, comes just one year after the Biden

administration drew widespread criticism for declaring Easter Sunday 2024 as

“Transgender Day of Visibility.” That deeply controversial move left many Christians

feeling sidelined and grieved over the growing disregard for the holiness of

Resurrection Sunday.

Declaring that Easter “deserves the observance,” the White House drew national

attention for putting Christ—not politics—at the center of America’s most sacred holiday.

At a time when America is desperate for clarity, truth, and moral leadership, the

decision to honor Easter so publicly sends a message of hope. It reminds us that the

gospel is not something to be hidden or compartmentalized—it is the foundation of our

national heritage and the hope of the world.

In a culture increasingly hostile to Christianity, the Trump administration’s Holy Week

observance is a refreshing and much-needed affirmation of biblical truth in the public

square. As believers, we are called to be salt and light. We must continue to pray for

and select leaders who are unafraid to stand for faith, speak the name of Jesus, and

point a weary nation back to the cross.
