Defending Biological Reality: United States v. Skrmetti

In a decisive 6–3 ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld Tennessee’s law banning gender
transition procedures—including puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries—for
minors. In United States v. Skrmetti, the Court affirmed that states have both the authority
and the responsibility to protect children from irreversible medical interventions rooted in
ideological confusion rather than scientific consensus.
This ruling marks a turning point in the national conversation. While activists have pushed
radical treatments for children struggling with gender dysphoria, the court acknowledged that many countries are now reversing course—citing insufficient evidence, long-term harm, and deep regret among those who transitioned young. The Court rightly noted that states do not violate the Constitution by pausing these life-altering procedures to safeguard their most vulnerable citizens.
For Christians, this decision affirms what Scripture and nature have always declared: God
created us male and female, and our bodies are not mistakes to be fixed, but gifts to be
honored. Protecting children from experimental and dangerous medical practices is not
hateful—it is loving, courageous, and morally right.
This win for biological reality and child safety gives churches across America an opportunity
to speak truth in love, support families in crisis, and stand firm against the lies of a confused
culture.
